HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLIES

ABOUT HIGH VOLTAGE SCR CONTROLLED POWER SUPPLIES

High voltage SCR controlled power supplies require the following:

  • Output voltage is high. Output current is generally Low.
  • Voltmeter and ammeter display the output voltage and current under load.
  • Potentiometers are used to adjust output voltage and limit output current from minimum to maximum.

The block diagram of a typical High voltage SCR controlled power supply is shown below:

The Variable Transformer Controlled units are more expensive but ripple on the output remains unchanged at 5% levels as output is lowered from the maximum.

Most variable DC power supplies are custom built. Units can be open frame or enclosed inside an enclosure. Input/output protections can be provided per customer requirements. Output voltage and current meters are provided per customer requirements. The units can be PLC controlled or Manual Potentiometer Controlled.

All major components like transformers and rectifiers are manufactured in-house by CEHCO to achieve the highest quality standard and to ensure the best use of raw materials. This allows us the capability of custom designing units to suit customer specific requirements and meet quick delivery schedules.
