UNREGULATED TRANSFORMER/RECTIFIER ASSEMBLY, 10 VDC, 430 AMP OUTPUT, P/N 18334PS
Customer requirements are shown below:
- Input: 480 VAC, 3 PH, 60 Hz, P/N 18334PS
- Output: 15.5 VDC, 215 Amps (RUN MODE).
- Output: 10 VDC, 430 Amps max for approximately 3 minutes (START MODE).
- A variable ON DELAY TIMER provides the capability to adjust the START MODE from 0 to 10 minutes.
- Ripple: 100 mV (peak to peak) maximum.
- A 3 PH variac on the input side allows adjustment of the 15.5 VDC output during RUN MODE.
- Enclosure: 50″ H x 36″ W x 26″ D. Unit is pallet jack movable and forklift lift able.
- One 10″ fan on top cover is blowing out.

The purpose of the power supply is to restrict the output current of the cold filament with low resistance during start up at 430 ADC max for three minutes. After three minutes, when the filament is hot, the resistance is increased to nominal value. This scheme protects the cold filament from catastrophic failure during start up.
